Abstract
Raoul Abdul details his family background and shares anecdotes from his life. Raoul Abdul details his family background, sharing details about his mother and father. He also discusses racial passing. Raoul Abdul shares childhood memories, particularly concerning his father and mother. He also recalls his early introduction to theater, and discusses some of the famous individuals he has come to know. Raoul Abdul recalls his early education, from elementary school through high school. He describes himself as a youth and remembers one of his role models in the community. Raoul Abdul remembers different aspects of his career, dabbling in photography, journalism, and theater. He also recalls his experiences as Langston Hughes' personal assistant. Raoul Abdul recalls his experiences studying music in Germany, and shares his impressions of German culture. He discusses other black singers and performers of European music. He also discusses his book. Raoul Abdul discusses German music and comments on various musician who have performed it. He then reflects on how his has lived his life and on his career, particularly his book, 'Three Thousand Years of Black Poetry.' Raoul Abdul discusses how he would like to be remembered.
