Abstract
Dan Moore talks about his parents' backgrounds and the values they instilled in him. Moore then recalls his childhood growing up in Philadelphia, and shares stories about his vivid imagination. He then recalls his religious upbringing and his encounters with Father Divine. Lastly, Moore recalls his career aspirations in high school. Dan Moore talks about his career interests in high school. He then recounts his foray into producing documentary films and his inspiring tour of Africa. Moore then comments on his attitudes in the 1960s and '70s during the Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War. He then talks about the denigration of black women in contemporary black music. Lastly, he details how the arts impact the American society's aesthetic. Dan Moore comments about the portrayal of the white male as "savior" in America's popular culture. Moore then talks about the projects his film companies have produced. He then details the history of the African American Panoramic Experience Museum (APEX), its objectives, and its initial reception by the Atlanta community.
