Abstract

Sports figure and entrepreneur Darryl Hill discusses his parents' and grandparents' backgrounds. Hill describes his earliest childhood memories and remembers his life with his younger brother. Sports figure and entrepreneur Darryl Hill describes his childhood environs in Washington, D.C.. Hill shares anecdotes from his early life, including a discussion of his elementary school years. Hill discusses the role of the church in his childhood home and describes his father as his role model. He goes on to discuss his experiences at a private Jesuit high school. Sports figure and entrepreneur Darryl Hill reveals his ambitions while a high school student. Hill reviews both his high school and college football careers and details the circumstances around his transfer between three universities. He also discusses racial confrontations he experienced as a participant in college athletics. Sports figure and entrepreneur Darryl Hill continues to discuss racist encounters during his time as a college football player. He then describes his early career in business, especially his work advocating for minority businesses. Hill recalls several of his own business ventures, including an endeavor in Russia's forestry industry.
