Abstract

Bank executive and civic leader Bob Nash shares his family background and describes his childhood growing up in Texarkana, Arkansas. Nash talks about life on the farm and his schooling, explaining his decision to attend Arkansas AM&N College in Pine Bluff. Nash describes becoming involved in social activism is college, which is one reason he decided to major in sociology. Bank executive and civic leader Bob Nash describes his experiences in higher education while getting his bachelor's degree at Arkansas AM&N College and his master's degree at Howard University. Nash then discusses his early career in public service, including his internship with Walter Washington, his vice presidency at the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, and multiple positions working in the Arkansas governor's office during Bill Clinton's administrations. Bank executive and civic leader Bob Nash details his time in Bill Clinton's presidential administration. He recalls stories from the campaign trail in 1992, and outlines his achivements as the White House Director of Personnel, including assembling the most diverse presidential staff in history.
