Abstract

Raphael Lee discusses his family background in medicine. He talks about attending the newly integrated University of South Carolina and briefly talks about campus activities in the 1960s. Lee talks about his interest in medicine and electrical engineering, and how he was able to combine them at MIT and Harvard. He also discusses his work on cell damage and trauma patients. Lee discusses his research on scarring and pharmacological solutions, and the need for plastic surgery. He offers his advice for aspiring doctors. Raphael Lee ponders his legacy.
