Abstract
Joseph Marshall recalls his parents' backgrounds and his childhood in St. Louis, Missouri. Joseph Marshall describes the violent atmosphere in Los Angeles, California, and his brief experience joining a gang. He also recalls his high school and college experiences. Joseph Marshall recalls his militant years at the University of San Francisco, California. He illustrates how his teaching career led him to found the Omega Boys Club. Marshall also shares his methodology at Omega Boys Club. Joseph Marshall shares his methodology in shaping successful teenagers, and explains his hopes and goals for African American youth. He then reflects on his life and career, and ponders his legacy.
