The namesake of one of Harrisburg's most recognizable figures, Peter C. Wambach, Jr. made his own unique contributions to the city of Harrisburg. Nicknamed the "Mayor of Boas Street", he was a founding member of the Historic Harrisburg Association. He served the 103rd District as its state representative from 1981 until 1993. Wambach now serves on the board of trustees of Harrisburg Area Community College. "That's my purpose of being here today - to try to instill in our young folks the need to be involved and to move forward with your convictions and contribute to the community and give back - just like my father told us to do."
