Dr. Charles DeLone may have delivered 80 percent of the babies born in Harrisburg during his career. Inspired to help people after his father's early death, the young DeLone went to Harrisburg Academy on a scholarship and took a job there while attending classes. After college and the military, he completed his residency at Harrisburg Hospital. Dr. DeLone started the first obstetrics and gynecology practice in Harrisburg and was on staff at Harrisburg Hospital. He later went to Holy Spirit Hospital, where he started the Maternity Department and became vice president of the hospital. Now retired, Dr. DeLone spends time with his wife and 17 grandchildren.
