Michael Fiaschetti
1959 -
Interview Length: 26 minutes
Interview Date: March 18, 2009
Interview Location: WHBG Channel 20, 223 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA
A lifetime Harrisburg resident, Michael Fiaschetti grew up in the 1960s and '70s and recalls city neighborhoods with their own grocery stores, drug stores and doctors' offices. It was a time when people "talked to each other across the porches at night" and seemed to know their neighbors better than they do today. He recalls trips to matinee movies in the heart of downtown and lunch counters in the many "Five & Dime" stores. A football player for Bishop McDevitt, Fiaschetti is now Market President of Highmark Blue Shield and a devoted advocate of children's issues.
